9.30am Thursday 19 December 2013

Rossnowlagh escaped the worst of yesterday evening's storm, sheltered by its surrounding hills from the southwesterly hurricane force 12 that swept much of the rest of Donegal.  This morning's swell is 2 foot towards the beach with 4 -5 foot still peaking over the Connachtman reef, off the Creek. The breeze here at the south end of the beach is a chilly force 3 southwesterly cross/onshore. It may be stronger at the northern end, away from the shelter of the cliffs.
